If you’re preparing to sell your home in Brisbane, one of the key considerations is the cost of marketing. Effective marketing is not just about putting a “For Sale” sign out the front—it’s about creating a comprehensive, strategic campaign that reaches the right buyers and generates maximum interest.
So, what does it actually cost to market a property in our local area? Here’s a clear and realistic breakdown based on what we see day-to-day in suburbs like Moorooka, Tarragindi, Annerley and surrounds.
💡 What Marketing Typically Costs in Brisbane
📸 Photography, Floorplan, Drone & Video
A professional shoot that includes photography, a detailed floorplan, drone imagery, and a short promotional video usually costs between $600 and $800. This high-quality visual content is essential to showcase your home in the best possible light online and in print.
🏡 Realestate.com.au (Premier Listing)
To get in front of the most buyers, we typically recommend a Premier listing on realestate.com.au, which ranges from $2,500 to $4,000 in our local postcodes.
Realestate.com.au (REA) has the largest market share in Queensland, meaning it’s the most heavily used property portal by local buyers. As a result, they command premium advertising prices, but also deliver the highest traffic and buyer engagement. For Brisbane sellers, REA is a non-negotiable when it comes to exposure.
💻 Domain.com.au
We also list properties on Domain.com.au, where the cost for a feature listing in our area is typically around $400 to $500.
Although Domain’s pricing is much lower, its market share in NSW and Victoria is substantial. We find that approximately one-quarter of our online traffic comes from Domain, which means it plays a valuable supporting role—especially for buyers relocating or investing from interstate. Skipping Domain would risk missing a segment of the market that is actively searching from outside Queensland.
📄 Brochures & Signboards
High-quality brochures for open homes and inspections usually cost $150 to $250, while professional signboards installed at the property are typically around $200. These visual tools are important in reinforcing the online campaign and catching drive-by interest.
📝 Copywriting
In our office, we do not charge for professional copywriting. We craft your property description in-house, ensuring it reflects both the practical highlights and the emotional appeal of your home.
📱 Social Media Marketing
We also do not charge for our social media promotions. Our tailored posts and video teasers across Facebook, Instagram and Google reach thousands of potential buyers, particularly local and active ones, at no additional cost to you.
🪑 Property Styling
Styling is one of the most important visual tools in marketing a home, and prices depend on the size and layout of the property. Expect to invest between $4,000 and $10,000, which includes full furniture hire, accessories, and a professional stylist’s eye for layout and flow.
🔨 Auctioneer Fees
If your property is going to auction, professional auctioneer fees typically range between $800 and $1,200. We work with trusted auctioneers who bring energy, experience, and excellent results on auction day.
🧾 Total Cost Range
For a typical home in Brisbane’s inner south, a full marketing campaign will usually cost between $3,500 and $6,500, depending on the listing platform, photography needs, and whether you choose to style the home.
Keep in mind, these costs are investments in maximising your final sale price. With the right strategy, the returns from a well-run marketing campaign far outweigh the upfront costs.
